First of all, it is important to note that several of the most exclusive Golf clubs in the Marbella area, are members only clubs. Whilst we can pay tribute to the clubs for example; La Zagaleta Golf, Las Brisas Golf and Aloha Golf, these Golf clubs are not covered in this article given that they are inaccessible to non-members.

Finca Cortesin Golf Club is the furthest away from Marbella, South West of Estepona, although only 40km which takes approximately 35 minutes by car. Finca Cortesin Golf Club, designed by Cabell Robinson, is renowned as one of Spain’s best Golf courses with an 18-hole championship course. Located next to the stunning 5* Finca Cortesin Hotel (2009) with restaurant amenities including a Beach Club, the course occupies a beautiful location, with amazing views of the Mediterranean sea and mountains as a backdrop.
Marbella Club Resort is situated in the hills next Benahavis; a 25 minute drive West of Marbella. The 18 hole Golf course was designed by Dave Thomas. Marbella Club Resort opened in 1999, and is part of the iconic 5* Marbella Club Hotel which was built in 1954 by Prince Alfonso, and forms part of Marbella’s Glamorous history. At the time of writing this article, if you stay at the Marbella Club Hotel or Puente Romano Hotel, you benefit from one Free round of Golf.
Villa Padierna Golf Club in Golf Valley, is at the heart of the Golden Triangle; Marbella – Benahavis – Estepona, and only 15 minutes West of Marbella. Villa Padierna Hotel (2003), an imposing 5* Hotel with an impressive selection of upscale restaurants, a Beach Club and lounge bar, with three 18-hole courses; Flamingos Golf, Alferini Golf and Tramores Golf. Villa Padierna Golf Club can be regarded as exclusive and one of the best Golf courses in Marbella.
Los Naranjos Golf Club is only 7 minutes from Puerto Banus and 15 minutes West of Marbella. Los Naranjos part of a group of golf courses, designed in the 1970’s by world famous Golf architect Robert Trent Jones. The course is famous due to its championship layout and design, and has hosted the World Cup, Spanish Open and other important competitions. Los Naranjos is also considered to be one of the best Golf courses in Spain.
Rio Real Golf Club is East of Marbella being the closest to the town, and only 10 minutes by car. Inaugurated in 1965 and designed by the legendary Javier Arana, who is thought of as the best Spanish designer of all time. Rio Real Golf Course, has seafront holes and spectacular views. The course is suitable for every player, thanks to its more elevated holes, which make them even more appealing as they require the use of various clubs. It is therefore one of Marbella’s best Golf courses.
