Puerto Banus offers the best experience for luxury shopping in Marbella area.
The Marina has one of the highest concentrations of Global luxury fashion brands in Europe. Puerto Banus boutiques’ have the latest collections from the most exclusive designers, including fashion brands and upscale jewelry & accessories occupying Marbella’s premier retail space.
Although other cities and locations in Europe may equal or surpass Marbella in terms of total number of stores, size per square metre and stock, they are generally dispersed across several locations within a large city, which takes time to travel in between. Then comes the issue of traffic and parking in big cities. Although Marbella can get busy in peak summer, it pales in comparison to congestion in major cities and there is a large underground parking area at the rear of the Port.
The big difference with Puerto Banus, is that it is possible to shop for a favourite designer handbag or accessory, with sufficient time for lunch at one of the many restaurants, afternoon drinks in the Port and even a trip out on a Yacht in between. When you return to Port, many of the stores are open late until 22.00 in the summertime.
Global luxury brands located in Puerto Banus include:
Brunello Cucinelli, Bottega Veneta, Bvlgari, Carolina Herrera, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Hermes, Jimmy Choo, La Perla, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Philipp Plein, Saint Laurent, Tods, Tom Ford, Valentino, Versace…
If you arrive in winter for luxury shopping in Marbella, the good news is that stores are still open, however their opening hours may be subject to change where stores typically close 20.00 – 22.00.
El Cortes de Ingles in Puerto Banus is one of Spain’s largest department stores and is also host to leading brands.
The Golden Mile that runs parallel to the beach from Puerto Banus to the West side of Marbella, also has a number of high end boutiques next to art galleries, interior designers and bespoke furniture stores. Several of the boutiques are adjacent to, or within the Marbella Club Hotel and Nobu, Puente Romano.
If you venture into Marbella town centre, the area is generally geared towards gift shops, specialist shops and high street brands, although there are several independent stores that sell mid-range designer brands e.g. Hugo Boss, Emporio Armani etc.
